Scotty McCreery packs 'Feel Like the Holidays' video with home tapes

Scotty McCreery takes center stage in his music video for “Feel Like the Holidays.” Young Scotty, that is.

Out now, the home tapes-driven visualizer offers fans a look at how Scotty spent the holidays as a kid. This includes scenes of Scotty ice skating, sledding, enjoying family meals, cuddling with his pup, singing in church, opening presents and unwrapping his first guitar.

“It's that time of year again and here's a little early gift for you! The music video for my Christmas song ‘Feel Like the Holidays’ is out now,” Scotty announced on social media.

“Feel Like the Holidays” first arrived on digital platforms in 2023.

Garth Brooks says hearing 'Much Too Young' always 'takes me right back'

If there’s one song that brings Garth Brooks back to his early years, it’s his 1989 debut single, “Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old).”

Garth caught up with Jimmy Kimmel on Tuesday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! to chat about his holiday plans, Vegas residency, new collection The Anthology, Part IV and early years in Nashville, where he recounted the very first time he heard his song on the airwaves.

“I was driving my truck in Nashville. There’s a place where 65 is cut by 40, I’m on that little strip and it comes on, ‘Much Too Young,'” Garth recalls.

“It’s been a long time for all of us,” he says of his multidecade career, “but any time I hear ‘Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old),’ it just takes me right back.”

That moment, however, didn’t immediately shoot Garth to stardom.

“I was still working at the time. I was working at a boot store and cleaning churches and stuff,” Garth shares in the interview. “I was working with a guy, putting boots on him and ‘Much Too Young’ was on the radio, and I said, ‘That’s me,’ and he goes, ‘Yeah, right. The right one feels a little tight.'”

“We did that for probably another six [to] eight months, just kept working because you need that income coming in and it ain’t going to happen when you’re a new artist,” he adds.

Garth also performed his cover of Nitty Gritty Dirt Band‘s “Fishin in the Dark,” which says he’s “always wanted to cut.”

You can watch Garth’s full interview and performance now on YouTube.

Dierks Bentley has to have this food item for Thanksgiving

A Thanksgiving meal is not a Thanksgiving meal without turkey. Just ask Dierks Bentley.

“You got to have a big turkey. Thanksgiving is not possible without a turkey,” says Dierks.

“We cook it traditionally, but a couple of Thanksgivings ago, we were here in Nashville, we did the whole fry-the-turkey-up, that was just great,” he recounts. “It just tasted so good; all those juices get locked in there, and I love that, too.”

In fact, Dierks is such a turkey lover that he’ll eat it however it’s prepared – roasted, grilled or deep-fried.

“You really can't, to me, cook a turkey wrong. I'm going to eat it any way, and I have over the years,” the singer shares. “Trust me, I've played a lot of county and state fairs, where I've seen gigantic turkey legs, you know? I've had the flat meat. I've done turkey every way you could do it.”

“I'm pretty good any way you want to cook it up,” Dierks says, “but you've got to have a turkey for Thanksgiving.”

Dierks recently performed his bluegrass rendition of Tom Petty‘s “American Girl” at the CMA Awards. If you missed the performance, you can watch it now on YouTube.

In an interview with ABC Audio, Thomas shared why he had to pick his latest chart-topper as the first single off his new record.

“‘Beautiful as You’ just sort of reminded me of how I used to kind of start my records, sort of with a big swing, different sound, sonically different, melodically different, and a song that my kids just really, really enjoyed and danced to,” Thomas explained. “So it seemed like the right first choice to us.”

Thomas recently performed “Somethin’ Bout a Woman” and “Lose Control” with Teddy Swims at the CMA Awards. If you missed their performance, you can watch it now on YouTube.

Macy’s finds that employee hid $154 million in expenses, Q3 earning report is delayed

Iconic retailer Macy’s announced Monday that it would delay its full third-quarter earnings report because of an employee hiding up to $154 million in expenses, which sent its stock plummeting in early trading.  At midday Monday, Macy’s stock was trading at $15.68 a share, down 3.8% — it had traded as high as $22.10 within the last year.

The department store chain was expected to report quarterly results on Tuesday; however, the retailer said that it had identified an issue related to delivery expenses in one of its accrual accounts earlier this month. The did release preliminary third-quarter results, adding that the full report, along with the fourth quarter and full-year guidance, will be unveiled by Dec. 11.

An independent investigation and forensic analysis found that a single unnamed employee, with responsibility for small package delivery expense accounting, intentionally made erroneous accounting accrual entries to hide roughly $132 million to $154 million of expenses from the fourth quarter of 2021 through the fiscal quarter ended November 2. Macy’s did not to explain why the employee, who is no longer with the company, hid the expenses.

Tony Spring, chair and CEO of Macy’s, said in a statement: “We delivered third-quarter sales in line with expectations as we continued to make traction on our Bold New Chapter strategy initiatives. Our Macy’s First 50 locations achieved their third consecutive quarter of comparable sales growth. At the same time … Bloomingdale’s and Bluemercury, reported positive comparable sales. Importantly, November comparable sales are trending ahead of third-quarter levels across nameplates.”

Macy’s said it its preliminary report of its first 50 locations, comparable sales growth was up 1.9%. It said asset sale gains of $66 million were ahead of expectations, and that luxury brand Bluemercury reported comparable sales growth of 3.3%.

Special Counsel Jack Smith seeks to dismiss federal charges against Trump in election case

Special counsel Jack Smith has filed motions to drop all federal charges against President-elect Donald Trump regarding his mishandling of classified documents and his effort to overturn his 2020 presidential election, leading up to the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S Capitol.

Trump was first indicted in June 2023 in a federal court in Miami on 37 felony counts related to mishandling classified documents that he took from the White House to his Florida home. A Florida judge dismissed the case, but Smith’s office had sought an appeal. Trump was separately indicted on four felonies in August 2023 for his attempt to reverse the 2020 election results: conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding and conspiracy against rights.

In newly filed court documents, Smith asked a federal district court in Washington on Monday to dismiss the charges against Trump. Federal prosecutors told U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan that they are seeking to close Trump’s case because Justice Department policy forbids the prosecution of a sitting president. The special counsel is seeking to dismiss the case without prejudice, meaning prosecutors could decide to charge Trump again after he leaves office in January 2029.

Smith wrote: “After careful consideration, the department has determined that [the Office of Legal Counsel’s] prior opinions concerning the Constitution’s prohibition on federal indictment and prosecution of a sitting president apply to this situation and that as a result this prosecution must be dismissed before the defendant is inaugurated. That prohibition is categorical and does not turn on the gravity of the crimes charged, the strength of the government’s proof, or the merits of the prosecution, which the government stands fully behind.”

The special counsel noted the historic nature of Trump’s prosecution and subsequent election to the presidency, writing that the “department and the country have never faced the circumstance here, where a federal indictment against a private citizen has been returned by a grand jury and a criminal prosecution is already underway when the defendant is elected president.”  After consultation with the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel, Smith said “the department’s position is that the Constitution requires that this case be dismissed before the defendant is inaugurated.”

In his six-page motion, Smith said that he conferred with Trump’s lawyers, and they do not object to the request to drop the case. Steven Cheung, Trump’s spokesman, said in a statement: “The American people re-elected President Trump with an overwhelming mandate to make America great again. Today’s decision by the DOJ ends the unconstitutional federal cases against President Trump and is a major victory for the rule of law. The American people and President Trump want an immediate end to the political weaponization of our justice system and we look forward to uniting our country.”

Chris Janson's a proud fried turkey buyer: Here's why

Chris Janson loves a bustling Thanksgiving holiday with his kinfolk, but this year’s shaping up to be a tad different.

“I think it’s going to be a little more low-key this year. Unfortunately, a lot of family’s traveling,” Chris tells ABC Audio before laying out how he typically spends the holiday.

“I like to have my [brothers-in-law] in and my in-laws and a lot of fried turkey and just chilling out. We hunt a lot, so we spend a lot of time in the woods, and we’ll be doing all those kind of things and not a whole lot of traveling,” he says. “I like to be home during the holidays. It’s sentimental.”

So is Chris the chief turkey fryer in the Janson household?

“I buy the turkeys, actually, locally from a place called Greer’s out in Franklin. Just country folks, and keeps their small business alive, and they do a better job than I do,” Chris shares.

“I’m not going to take the chance of lighting the house on fire. Trust me, that’s next. This is like throwing a turkey in a damn cannon, you know what I mean? You get a flame going up 10 feet,” the singer says. “So, no, but I don’t mind buying it. I’m not ashamed to say that I buy. No problem.”

Chris recently teamed with Alabama to record a duet version of their festive classic, “Christmas in Dixie.” You can hear it now wherever you listen to music.
