BTS’s V to release duet of ‘White Christmas’ with Bing Crosby

BTS member V has teamed up with the Bing Crosby estate to releasing a remix of the late Crosby’s classic holiday song “White Christmas.” The new version of “White Christmas” will drop Dec. 6.  V also just released his new digital single, “Winter Ahead (with Park Hyo Shin)” on November 29th.

V said“I’m so grateful to have had the chance to be featured in a song with my all-time favorite jazz artist, Bing Crosby. I grew up listening to his song ‘It’s Been a Long, Long Time,’ countless times a day, and I feel incredibly fortunate and honored to have sung along on ‘White Christmas’ with the voice of someone I consider an idol. Being a huge fan of his, I sang with the utmost sincerity and admiration for him, and I hope many people enjoy it as much as I enjoyed singing it. Lastly, I wish a lovely holiday season to everyone listening to the song.”

The Bing Crosby Estate and the late musician’s daughter approved the collab, with Mary Crosby stating: “As a family, we are thrilled to have V and Dad singing together on this ultimate Christmas song. Their voices blend beautifully, capturing the holiday spirit in the best possible way.” Harry Crosby, Bing’s son, added: “We are incredibly excited about V joining Dad for the duet of “White Christmas.” We are happy that V will help share the joy of this timeless Christmas song.”

The duet will be available on exclusive holiday-themed Vinyl, CD, & merchandise with fans able to choose from two distinct vinyl variants: a Holiday Picture Disc Vinyl and a Zoetrope Snowflake Vinyl. There are also two exclusive CD versions, the first being a pink picture disc while the second will feature a snowflake. Both the vinyl and CDs are available for pre-order here.

Why Ashley McBryde's thrilled about her 'CMA Country Christmas' collab

Ashley McBryde‘s CMA Country Christmas performance will be like a friendship reunion for her.

Brittney Spencer is joining the “One Night Standards” singer onstage to perform “Man With the Bag,” and this is an opportunity Ashley’s thrilled about.

“When I found out I [get] to collab, I was immediately excited and curious as to who I would get to sing with, and it’s Brittney Spencer. I could not be more excited. She got pipes,” Ashley says in a pre-performance interview.

“Brittney and I, generally, when we’re at an event, we are either sharing a dressing room or dressing rooms right next to each other. And we perform right before or right after one another, so rarely do we get to watch each other perform,” she shares.

“So tonight, not only do we get to watch each other perform, we get to perform together,” adds Ashley.

CMA Country Christmas, hosted by Trisha Yearwood and Amy Grant, airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and will stream next day on Hulu and Disney+.

Meanwhile, Ashley’s new song, “Ain’t Enough Cowboy Songs,” arrives Friday.

Man wielding chainsaw at Illinois senior-living facility is fatally shot by police

State and local law enforcement confirmed that a man wielding a chainsaw inside a senior-living facility in St. Charles, Illinois, was shot and killed by police early Sunday. Officers and residents of the assisted-living facility were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The man, who has not publicly been identified, was allegedly attempting to cut down a tree on the facility’s property at about 8:45 a.m. on Sunday.  The St. Charles Police Department said in a press statement that when police arrived at the facility at the 900 block of North 5th Avenue, the man was ‘shirtless’, adding: “just before police arrival, witnesses advised the subject had now gained entry to the lobby of the building and began confronting residents with the chainsaw …the suspect continued his attempts to use the chainsaw against residents of the building,” as well as against responding officers.

The Illinois State Police said in a press release that officers used a taser on the man, “but his attack continued,” and then an officer fired his gun, striking the alleged attacker, upon which “the male suspect was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.”

According to local ABC affiliate WLS-TV  a spokesperson for River Glen of St. Charles said the person was never authorized to enter the facility. They added:  “We are deeply grateful for the swift action of our team and law enforcement. We want to emphasize that our community is secure, and all of our residents and staff members are safe. We are working closely with law enforcement as they continue their investigation of this isolated incident.”

The Illinois State Police said it was continuing to investigate the cause of the shooting.
