Did you know that a famed football coach played a role in the naming process of Parker McCollum‘s son?
Speaking to ABC Audio recently, Parker shared that his 5-month-old’s name, Major Yancey, came from a little “YouTube football highlights” watch.
“I was watching … University of Texas, the real UT football highlights on YouTube one night, and I saw Major Applewhite on there and I thought, you know, ‘Major McCollum, that would be cool,'” Parker shares. “I told it to [my wife] Hallie and she loved it, and now that’s his name and he’s a real baby.”
So what’s Major like right now?
“He can really laugh now. He cackles like [an] old lady, like he really laughs out loud and it’s legit,” says Parker. “And he has two perfect dimples. I could see ’em the second he came out, his first minute alive, I could see his dimples just ripping. So when he laughs and smiles, it’s pretty good.”
Parker’s current single, “What Kinda Man,” is in the top 40 and climbing up the country charts.
