For Blake Shelton, 'The Road' won't likely lead to acting

For the past few weeks Blake Shelton‘s been busy shooting The Road, the new music competition show he developed with Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan.

If that gives you hope Blake could someday land in a Sheridan show like Tim McGraw in 1883 – well, Blake says you should probably hold your horses.

“I’ve never really had the acting bug,” he says. “We’ve done some goofy things along the way. I got to host Saturday Night Live years ago, and I did do a part in an Adam Sandler movie. And it was just small things here and there.”

Beyond that? Blake says it just takes too long for his taste.

“I’ve learned enough about acting, enough to know that, man, that’s probably more than I want to bite off to chew,” he tells ABC Audio. “Because I like to do a project and then get away from it, and I feel like movie stuff is like you’re locked down for months at a time.”

“And I don’t know, the idea of that kind of freaks me out a little bit,” he adds.

Meanwhile, The Road is on track to premiere this fall on CBS, with Keith Urban playing a major part in the series.

Musically, Blake has a top-10 hit with “Texas” ahead of the release of his new album, For Recreational Use Only, on May 9.

Chase Rice shares three-song EP ‘Live from Chief’s’

Chase Rice recently surprised fans with the release of a special three-song EP, Live From Chief’s, captured during his recent acoustic shows at Chief’s on Broadway in Nashville last month.

The project opens with covers of Eric Church’s “Carolina,” and George Strait’s iconic hit “I Can Still Make Cheyenne,” which itself inspired the EP’s third song – the previously unreleased “Cowboy Goodbye,”co-written by Rice with Oscar Charles and Foy Vance during a recent post-Red Rocks retreat in Colorado.

Rice shares in the live recording’s introduction: “I love my life; I love my job; I love what I get to do for a living – but I’ve given up a lot to do it. I don’t have a family yet – that’s the goal – but that’s one of the main things that I’ve given up to do this thing… Since I was a little kid, I always wore the cowboy boots, I always wore the cowboy hat and the cowboy way of life was always just kind of in my mind.”

The EP, co-produced by Rice and Charles, features an intimate, stripped-down sound with Charles on drums and background vocals, Jonathan Sherwood on bass and Tori Allen on fiddle.

See J-Hope in the video for his latest single, ‘Mona Lisa’

BTS’s J-Hope has dropped his latest solo single “Mona Lisa,” along with an accompanying music video. The track and visual are the follow-up to his recent single, “Sweet Dreams”.

The video kicks-off with the K-pop singer and rapper, 31, gazing at an image of woman’s turned face, in an apparent museum, with no other artwork on the walls.  An official description reads: “‘Mona Lisa’ is a love song that pays tribute to celebrating one’s unique beauty. With its title inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s iconic masterpiece, ‘Mona Lisa,’ the track likens the praise for the alluring person to the timeless masterpiece. It conveys that what truly moves someone is not external beauty, but rather the distinctive characteristics that make each person special.” Check out the video for ‘Mona Lisa’ – HERE.

As noted, J-Hope recently shared the single and video for “Sweet Dreams” featuring Miguel, which marked his first solo project in a year since the release of his album, Hope on the Street Vol 1. last March. The collaboration marks the two stars’ first time working together, with the video featuring an overhead shot of the South Korean singer sleeping in bed, and when he opens his eyes, the image cuts to a house floating in the sky.  See the video for ‘Sweet Dreams’ – HERE.
