Trisha Yearwood looks in 'The Mirror' as artist of the day at CMA Fest

Trisha Yearwood will be the artist of the day on Friday at Fan Fair X inside Music City Center.

She’ll kick off her CMA Fest appearance at 10:45 a.m. CT, appearing on the CMA Close Up Stage to talk about her new music.

Trisha will be joined by several of her co-writers on The Mirror, the first project for which she’s co-written every track.

“The people that have come to hear me have really been supportive of the new things,” Trisha reflects. “And you hear something a little different at every show, and you see what's resonating with people in a different way. And so, I think that's been the biggest surprise of all is watching people and seeing what songs resonate with them and why.”

Some fans may also be surprised to see Trisha picking up the pace with her self-penned project.

“I love serious ballads, and I actually didn't write a ton of ballads for this project,” she says. “I was hesitant to put some of the ‘lighter’ things on the record, and those are the songs that people really respond to.”

Trisha has released the tracks “Girls Night In,” “The Wall or the Way Over” and “Bringing the Angels” from The Mirror, which arrives in full July 18.

'No Show Jones' takes up permanent residency at the Ryman

The legendary George Jones is back at the Ryman, just in time for CMA Fest 2025.

On Tuesday the iconic Nashville venue unveiled a life-sized bronze statue of Jones as part of its Icon Walk. It joins likenesses outside the Ryman of Loretta Lynn, Charley Pride, Little Jimmy Dickens and Bill Monroe.

It was Jones’ widow, Nancy, who chose to depict her late husband in his 60s, because “I think that's what he would've wanted,” she told People.

“I wish he could have worked here every weekend because it was the only place he never got drunk. It was like, That's the Mother Church of Country Music, and you don't drink there,'” she said, referencing a tendency that earned him the nickname “No Show Jones.”

The Country Music Hall of Famer passed in 2013 at the age of 81.

Brothers Osborne carve out the Finish This Drink Trail for CMA Fest

If you’re in Nashville for CMA Fest, Brothers Osborne are hoping you’ll walk the Finish This Drink Trail.

Named for their new single, TJ Osborne and John Osborne‘s drinking game starts with fans picking up a rather realistic looking passport at Evelyn’s or Skydeck. You’ll then need to get six stamps at six different stops, including Eric Church‘s Chief’s, Nashville’s beloved Pancake Pantry, Tennessee Brew Works and Cerveza Jack’s.

In the interest of temperance, you do have from Thursday until Sunday to complete the assignment, and at least a couple of the locations are primarily restaurants. Those who complete the trail will have a chance to win a meet and greet with the guys.

On Friday, Brothers play their sold-out Family Reunion at Analog at Hutton Hotel. Members of the fan club who aren’t in Music City will be able to stream the intimate show live.
