A year ago Hudson Westbrook was breaking bulls and building fences

Hudson Westbrook‘s debut album is finally out, and Texas Forever is more than just its title. It’s how he feels about his home state.

Though he’d earlier pledged to donate a week’s worth of merch sales to flood relief in the Lone Star State, he’s now extended that, vowing to give all proceeds for the month of July to help the cause.

You might be surprised to find out it wasn’t that long ago the “House Again” hitmaker was back in Texas working a regular job.

“It's still hard for me to wrap my mind around the last 15 months sometimes,” Hudson says. “I was breaking bulls and putting up fences a year ago, and now we're releasing my debut album.”

Texas Forever is a perfect snapshot of what my life has looked like over the last year, and I'm so happy to share it with y'all,” he continues. “Even since we announced this record in May, the meaning of it has changed and evolved into so much more than what I could have imagined. I'm proud to be from Texas, and I carry that with me everywhere I go.”

You can check out Hudson’s new video for the album’s opening track, “Darlin’,” on YouTube now.

Pres Trump meets with E.U.’s von der Leyen, agrees to lower tariffs to 15%

On Sunday, President Donald Trump announced that the United States and the European Union (E.U.) had finalized a trade agreement that lowers tariffs to 15%, resolving months of trade-related uncertainty with the U.S.’s top trading ally. This new rate marks a significant decrease from the 30% tariff Trump threatened to impose on July 12, as well as the 20% he mentioned back in April.

This new arrangement bears strong resemblance to a deal struck with Japan earlier in the week, which also resulted in a 15% import tax—lower than what had previously been suggested by the former president.

During the announcement, Trump stated that the EU had agreed not to place tariffs on American goods. Standing alongside Trump, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen emphasized that the agreement would foster “stability and predictability”—two elements she said are critical for businesses operating on both sides of the Atlantic.

Negotiations had been ongoing for weeks between EU officials and top U.S. trade figures, including Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer. Talks were reportedly nearing completion when Trump abruptly posted on Truth Social, declaring a plan to raise tariffs to 30%.

Following Trump’s surprise statement, von der Leyen warned that such a steep increase would severely disrupt critical transatlantic supply chains, causing harm to industries, consumers, and even healthcare sectors on both continents. The EU reaffirmed its commitment to securing a deal before the self-imposed August 1 deadline. At the same time, officials continued crafting a retaliatory tariff list targeting around $100 billion worth of American goods in case negotiations fell through.

The EU, made up of 27 member nations, remains the United States’ largest source of imported goods. In 2024, the U.S. imported roughly $605 billion worth of goods from the bloc—more than it brought in from Mexico, Canada, or China. Leading those imports were pharmaceutical products, especially from Ireland, followed by automobiles, aircraft, and industrial equipment from countries like Germany and France.

Suspect in custody after 11 are wounded in stabbing at Walmart in Traverse City, MI

A suspect has been arrested after stabbing 11 people on Saturday, July 26 at a Walmart in Traverse City, Mich.

Grand Traverse County Sheriff Mike Shea told the Traverse City Record-Eagle that the lone suspect used a folding knife near a checkout counter in what appeared to be a random attack, and that there were no fatalities.

The suspect, a 42-year-old Michigan resident, was subdued by bystanders at the store after the incident. Shea said the actions by the suspect seemed to be random and the victims did not seem to be predetermined. A group of bystanders, including at least one armed with a pistol, confronted the suspect and forced him to drop the knife while awaiting a police response. Shea said the ages of the victims are unknown, and none of the victims seemed to be Walmart employees. The suspect “appears” to be a Michigan resident.

Michigan State Police crime lab investigators are helping to gather and analyze evidence at the crime scene, which is located in the Grand Traverse Crossing mall in the southwestern portion of Traverse City, which is located 150 miles north of Grand Rapids and 255 miles northwest of Detroit.

As of an update on Sunday morning, the conditions of the victims were said to be improving Munson Healthcare in northern Michigan confirmed that “11 victims are being treated at Munson Medical Center” in connection to the incident. As of the morning of Sunday, July 27, four were in serious condition and none were in critical condition, an improvement from Saturday night when six were critical. Three required surgery.

Boys will be boys: What really happened on George Birge’s ‘It Won’t Be Long’ video shoot

George Birge‘s hit, “It Won’t Be Long,” was inspired by watching his dad play with his two sons.

So it only made sense for 8-year-old George James and 6-year-old Luke to be in the music video.

“It was a no-brainer to me to feature my kids in the music video…” the proud father tells ABC Audio. “And they just thought it was amazing. They feel like superstars now — their first little taste of the limelight. And they were definitely the stars of the music video.”

In truth, George admits there was a little behind-the-scenes drama during the shoot.

“It’s funny, you know, we got so many comments about how well they did in the music video and how awesome it turned out and how emotional it was,” he explains.

“And I just wanted to be like, ‘You know, I wish y’all could have seen behind the scenes, because really while we were shooting it, they were wrestling each other and crying and punching each other the whole time,'” he laughs. “So I’m so glad that we captured the magic because it was a lot more chaos when we shot it.”

??George is currently on the Country Song Came On Tour with Luke Bryan.

Kameron Marlowe shares video for the single ‘Seventeen’

Kameron Marlowe has released the new single “Seventeen,” written by Marlowe, Tucker Beathard, Austin Goodloe, and Joybeth Taylor – with an additional credit to Bruce Springsteen, whose classic hit “Born In The U.S.A.” is briefly mentioned in the opening verse.

Marlowe says of the track: “One of my favorite things about music is how it can transport you to a specific time and place. We wrote ‘Seventeen,’ about that feeling you have when you’re young and on top of the world. I spent my summers listening to music on the lake with my friends, getting into trouble and making some of the best memories of my life. I hope this song takes you back there with us.”

The official music video for “Seventeen,” directed by Matt Paskert, was filmed at a lake house in Joelton, TN. The clip features a group of old friends, flashing back and forth between the playful antics of their teenage years to present day reminiscence around a back porch card table.

Marlowe adds: “I’ve been really inspired this year. Coming off of the Sad Songs For the Soul project, we just wanted to shake it up and have fun. This song feels like summer to me, and it feels like we’re about to have a big one – can’t wait to play these shows for y’all.”
