OneRepublic to release first-ever career-spanning collection

After nearly two decades, OneRepublic will release their first-ever career-spanning album entitled OneRepublic: The Collection on August 15, 2025.

OneRepublic: The Collection will be available digitally as well as CD, a 1 LP black vinyl pressing, limited-edition 1LP “Fruit Punch” color vinyl, and an exclusive 1LP Zoetrope vinyl pressing.

The 16-track record includes a pair of songs off the band’s 2007 debut studio album, Dreaming Out Loud: “Stop and Stare,” and “Apologize,” produced by Timbaland – which marked the band’s breakout single. The song reached No. 2 on the Hot 100, and later garnered a Grammy nomination in the category of “Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.”

Also included is “Good Life,” “All The Right Moves,” and “Secrets” from the band’s album Waking Up, and the diamond-certified ‘Counting Stars,’ off the band’s 2013 third album, Native. ‘Counting Stars’ hit No. 2 on the Hot 100, and has gathered over 3 billion Spotify streams, making it one of the “Top 100 Most-Streamed Songs on the Platform.” Other songs from Native include:“If I Lose Myself,” “I Lived,” and “Love Runs Out,” which appeared on the album’s 2014 reissue.

“Wherever I Go” represents the band’s 2016 album Oh My My, while “Rescue Me” and “Run” are included from their 2021 comeback Human. The band’s most recent release, 2024’s Artificial Paradise, features the songs  “Runaway,” “Sunshine,” and “I Don’t Wanna Wait,” a collaboration with French DJ David Guetta.

OneRepublic: The Collection also features the song “I Ain’t Worried,” originally written for the blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. The 4x-Platinum song, which interpolates Peter, Bjorn and John’s 2006 hit “Young Folks,” has been streamed over 2 billion times and features backing vocals from frontman Ryan Tedder’s son.

Brandon Blackstock, Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband and father of her children, has died

Not long after Kelly Clarkson announced that she was canceling her August residency shows in Las Vegas due to her ex-husband’s health comes the news that he has passed away. He was 48.

A statement from his rep reads, “It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away. Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family.”

“We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time,” the statement concludes.

Blackstock, a music manager who worked with Blake Shelton, among others, was married to Kelly from 2013 to 2022. He was Reba McEntire‘s stepson, as his father, music manager Narvel Blackstock, was married to McEntire from 1989 to 2015.

Blackstock had two children from his previous marriage to Melissa Ashworth: Seth Blackstock and Savannah Blackstock. With Kelly, he had daughter River, 10, and son Remy, 8.

When Kelly missed several episodes of her talk show earlier this year, there were unconfirmed reports that she was absent due to Brandon’s illness.

Kelly and Brandon’s split was messy, with Kelly suing and eventually winning more than $2.6 million from him in commissions, which the California Labor Commission ruled that he had received from unlawfully handling certain business deals for her. They also fought in court over their Montana ranch.

As part of their split, Kelly was ordered to pay Brandon over $100,000 per month in spousal support and more than $45,000 a month in child support until January 2024.

Meghan Patrick is a ‘Golden Child’ on the rise

Meghan Patrick has her biggest U.S. hit so far with “Golden Child.”

Already a star in her native Canada, she found it particularly thrilling to watch the premiere of the song’s video on CMT’s billboard in New York City.

“Getting to see my video in Times Square was a once in a lifetime moment,” she reflects. “While I sat and watched the video, I became really emotional but I just kept thinking about all of the times that I’ve thought about giving up and somehow found the strength to keep going. Getting to sit in that joy and experience that with my team is a moment I’ll never forget, and a strong reminder of why I never gave up.”

The “Golden Child” video traces the relationship of a lifelong group of friends, as slumber parties morph into late night drinks and they support each other through an instance of domestic violence. You can check it out on YouTube now.

“Golden Child” has already cracked the top 10 in Canada, while it’s just broken into the top 40 in the U.S.

Pres. Trump hits India with additional 25% tariffs over Russian oil imports

President Trump has imposed an additional 25% tariff on goods from India over its imports of oil from Russia, the White House said on Wednesday, raising the rate from 25% to 50%.

In a newly issued executive order, Trump stated that India is continuing to import oil from Russia, either directly or indirectly. Because of these ongoing transactions, Trump said an additional 25% duty would be imposed on Indian goods entering the U.S. market: “I find that the Government of India is currently directly or indirectly importing Russian Federation oil. Accordingly, and as consistent with applicable law, articles of India imported into the customs territory of the United States shall be subject to an additional ad valorem rate of duty of 25 percent.”

This new increase will be added to the 25% tariff already set to take effect Wednesday night, part of a broader wave of tariffs Trump is implementing across several major trading partners. The additional duty is scheduled to be enforced within 21 days. At 50%, India would face one of the highest import tariffs levied by the U.S. on any country. Other nations facing similar high tariffs include Brazil at 50%, Syria at 41%, Myanmar at 40%, and Switzerland at 39%.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs pushed back in response to the latest tariff escalation, stating that the Trump administration’s targeting of India over Russian oil imports was “unjustified and unreasonable” and that it “will take all necessary measures to safeguard its national interests and economic security.” India has previously claimed that its purchases of Russian oil were made with the knowledge and backing of the United States.

During an interview with CNBC on Tuesday, Trump criticized India’s trade practices, saying, “India has not been a good trading partner, because they do a lot of business with us, but we don’t do business with them. So we settled on 25% [tariffs] but I think I’m going to raise that very substantially over the next 24 hours, because they’re buying Russian oil. They’re fueling the war machine.”

According to data from the Commerce Department, India ranked as the 10th-largest exporter of goods to the United States in 2024, with imports exceeding $87 billion. Among the top categories were machinery, plastics, rubber, chemicals, metals, glass, and agricultural products.

How Parker McCollum’s older brother set him up for success

When it comes to musical mentors, Parker McCollum didn’t have to look very far to find his.

“The biggest musical influence or teacher was really my older brother,” he says. “Phenomenal songwriter, loved really raw Americana country music songwriters when he was very young. I’m six years younger than him. So I was like a literal child.”

Tyler McCollum populated Parker’s musical world with the artists who’d become his benchmarks.

“He was giving me Steve Earl records and Traveling Wilbury[s] records and Rodney Crowell records and just, I mean, on and on and on,” Parker recalls. “He’s the one who showed me who The Band is, Exile on Main Street by the [Rolling] Stones. I mean, he was giving all those records when I was a young kid. Robert Earl Keen, James McMurtry, Hayes Carll, Todd Snider, on and on and on.”

Tyler also instilled a musical work ethic in his little brother.

“He was really, really hard on me about the integrity of songwriting at a very young age, and I really identified with that,” Parker says. “I really connected to that when I was a kid. And so nobody’s really taught me as much about songwriting and music as a whole as my older brother.”

Fresh off his third sold-out show at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Parker plays the Iowa State Fair and the Crossroads 41 Festival Friday and Saturday.
