Cynthia Erivo covers ‘Everytime You Go Away’ featured in ‘John Candy: I Like Me’ documentary

Cynthia Erivo has shared a stripped-down version of “Everytime You Go Away”- the ’80s rock ballad written by Hall & Oates’ Daryl Hall, made famous by British artist Paul Young.  Erivo’s version of the song is featured in the recent Prime video documentary John Candy: I Like Me, from director Colin Hanks and producer Ryan Reynolds.

Erivo shares: “John Candy brought so much joy to people’s lives, and it’s an honor to celebrate his legacy through this song. ‘Everytime You Go Away’ is one of my favorites and carries such tenderness. I hope my version captures even a fraction of the warmth he gave the world.”

‘John Candy: I Like Me’ features interviews with friends, family and colleagues who share in their own words who John really was, as well as never-before-seen archival footage, imagery, and interviews with Candy.  Producer Reynolds shared of Erivo’s musical contribution to the documentary: “Cynthia Erivo is a once-in-a-generation talent. I called and asked her, bluntly, if she’d do the song. I needed her to do it. She doesn’t just sing, she feels it in every note .. It’s the song it’s supposed to be. And it’s in the movie it’s supposed to be in. It somehow captured the joy and the loss and the enduring kindness of John Candy. Cynthia delivered my favorite song, and it haunts me. I hold it in my chest and in my hands and stomach all day, every day. I love Cynthia Erivo. Her singularity somehow has multitudes.”

Zac Brown teams with cruise line to design onboard music experiences

Zac Brown and the late Jimmy Buffett were friends, so it’s fitting that Zac has been tapped to help design onboard music experiences for the Margaritaville at Sea cruise line.

Zac’s first order of business was creating a new live music venue for the cruise line’s new flagship, the Beachcomber. The venue is called Same Boat, after the song Jimmy sang with Zac on the deluxe edition of Zac Brown Band‘s album The Comeback. Zac is involved with the music programming, artwork and the overall design of the venue.

“I knew I didn’t just want to design a room – I wanted to create an experience that truly captures the spirit of Margaritaville at Sea,” Zac says in a statement. “Designing Same Boat has been about bringing that easygoing energy that’s always guided my music to life.”

Zac says the details of the venue “reflect pieces of my own journey,” and the venue will be a place where you can “feel that incredible sense of freedom you only find at a show or out on the open water.”

Zac will also be involved in creating music experiences for the Beachcomber, and you can experience them firsthand thanks to a sweepstakes called the Fly & Float Ultimate Giveaway. You can win a spot on the inaugural Beachcomber sailing in January 2027, as well as a trip to see ZBB perform at Sphere Las Vegas in January 2026. You can register to win at audacy.com/margaritavilleatsea.

‘Country’s Greatest Songs’ revealed on new ‘OPRY100’ album

What are country music’s greatest songs? You can hear them on Friday, thanks to the release of a new album called OPRY100: Country’s Greatest Songs.

The 20-track album is comprised of never-before-released live recordings from the Opry stage, all chosen from the fan-voted Opry 100 Greatest Songs list. Fans can continue voting for the #1 all-time greatest country song through Nov. 14.

The live recordings are a mix of cover versions and original live performances. Reba McEntire admits she paused before saying yes ‘three times’ to Rex Linn’s proposal

Reba McEntire is “happier now than I’ve ever been in my life,” in part thanks to her romance with her fiancé, Rex Linn – although she admits she didn’t immediately say yes to his proposal.

Speaking to USA Today, Reba shared that Linn, her co-star on Happy’s Place, originally planned to pop the question when they were on safari in Africa in June, but “the opportunity never presented itself.” He brought the ring all the way back home to Tennessee, and on Dec. 24 he got down on one knee while he and Reba were walking near a creek on their ranch outside Nashville.

“I said, ‘What are you doing?’ and he said, ‘Would you marry me? I want to cross the finish line with you,'” Reba said, adding that she hugged Rex’s head but didn’t answer.

“He said, ‘You’re not saying anything!’ And I finally said, ‘Well, yes! YES!'”

Rex told USA Today that Reba only paused for about “21 seconds,” but noted, “Even a five-second pause feels like an hour.”

“I thought, if she doesn’t say ‘yes,’ I’ll just disappear into that creek,” Rex added. “But then she said ‘yes’ three times.”

The two haven’t set a wedding date, since, as Rex explained, Reba only has “13 free days in 2026.” For now, they’re just enjoying their engagement – and inspiring others with their love story.

As Reba told USA Today, “I’m hearing from people I haven’t heard from in years, going, ‘Gosh, you’ve given me hope. Maybe there is someone out there for me.'”

‘Put it in God’s hands’: Jelly Roll’s wife Bunnie Xo is ‘totally open to adoption’

Jelly Roll‘s wife, Bunnie Xo, has been very candid about her IVF journey as the couple attempts to get pregnant. But in the latest episode of her Dumb Blonde podcast, Bunnie said that if it doesn’t happen, she’s fine with other options.

Bunnie’s guest, TV personality Maury Povich, shared the fertility struggles he and his wife, broadcast journalist Connie Chung, went through before they decided to adopt. “We went through the same stuff that you and Jelly Roll have gone through,” Maury said.

Bunnie replied, “It is tough, but at the same time it’s like, you just put it in God’s hands,” she shared. “If it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be. And if not, we can always adopt. I’m totally open to adoption, too, and so is my husband.”

Jelly and Bunnie married in 2016, and she’s the stepmother of Jelly’s daughter, Bailee DeFord, and son, Noah DeFord. Over the past few years, Bunnie has shared that she and Jelly have been trying to get pregnant; in August she said that she’d been undergoing IVF treatments for six months.
