Tracy Lawrence reveals lineup for 20th annual ‘Mission: Possible Turkey Fry and Benefit Concert’

Tracy Lawrence has announced the star-studded lineup for the return of his 20th annual Mission: Possible Turkey Fry and Benefit Concert, taking place on November 25th at Luke Combs’ Category 10 in Nashville.

In addition to Lawrence, the event will include performances from Gretchen Wilson, Eric Paslay, Chris Cagle and special guests Halfway to Hazard.   For ticket information, head HERE.

New this year, fans can bring canned food items to the event to donate to Second Harvest Food Bank to help support families and individuals facing food insecurity. For every five cans donated, participants will be entered into a raffle for a signed guitar. The guitar features signatures from Lawrence’s annual golf tournament, including some of country music’s biggest names like Lawrence, Vince Gill, Zach Top, Priscilla Block, Warren Zeiders, Gavin Adcock, Charles Esten and more.

The milestone anniversary of the Mission: Possible Turkey Fry and Benefit Concert aims to feed over 32,000 people in need in Middle Tennessee through the Nashville Rescue Mission, eight surrounding county school systems, and boots on the ground community organizations who provide for those in need. With the help of Cargill, the Poultry Federation and Operation BBQ, the event has expanded to feed more people in the community with 2,000 cooked turkeys – 400 more than last year – and 1,200 frozen turkeys distributed.

Lawrence said in a statement: “I cannot believe we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the turkey fry. This event started with a few of my buddies in a church parking lot and only cooking 200 birds. Now our footprint has grown, and we’re cooking 2,000 turkeys and feeding so many throughout Middle Tennessee. Big things!”

Lawrence’s Mission: Possible has fried over 10,000 turkeys, provided more than 86,000 meals to the homeless across Middle Tennessee, donated over $1M to Nashville Rescue Mission and raised over $2.5 million, which helps to further its goals, advocate for those in need and expand their ability to support aligned causes. Last year’s concert raised $250,000 and featured performances by Lawrence, Russell Dickerson, Meghan Patrick, John Schneider and Halfway To Hazard. Past performers of the annual concert include Tim McGraw, Luke Combs, Chris Young, Lainey Wilson, Jason Aldean, Cole Swindell, Justin Moore, Dustin Lynch, Lee Brice and more.

Partying with Post Malone inspired Randy Houser’s ‘Back in the Bottle’

Even though he ended up writing it by himself, Randy Houser had some high-caliber help creating his new song.

“When I had the idea for Back in the Bottle,' not to name drop, but I was hanging out with Post Malone, and we went to the studio,” Randy explains. “Didn't even leave to get started til probably midnight. We did two nights like that, and we were having a great time, writing and drinking.”

“So that gave me the idea,” he continues. “If I could put last night back in the bottle, I'd pull last night back down and drink it again.’ And we've all had those nights. How many times have we hair-of-the-dogged it? Sometimes you just gotta keep rocking and keep having fun.”

“Back in the Bottle” begins a new musical chapter for the “We Went” hitmaker, with a steady stream of new music coming in 2026.

His most recent release was February’s deluxe version of his Note to Self album.

‘How Do I Let You Go’: Parmalee’s emotional tribute to their fathers

As Parmalee‘s latest hit nears #1, the North Carolina band is releasing a very personal new song.

“How Do I Let You Go” was inspired by their fathers, who also inspired them to play music.

“This song is a note to our dads and the friends we lost too soon,” lead singer Matt Thomas says. “Myself, [my brother] Scott [Thomas] and [lifelong friend] Josh [McSwain] grew up playing in bands with our dads. [Cousin] Barry [Knox] eventually joined that band too.”

“From the time we were kids,” Matt continues, “all we ever wanted to do was play music for a living. There's a line in the song about Corrigan's – that was the club where it all began for us with them. The place that shaped us as musicians and friends.”

For the foursome, it’s difficult their dads didn’t live to see their success.

One of the hardest things is knowing they never got to see us fulfill our dreams of playing music for a living,” Matt says. “Even so, they've been with us every step of the way, and we know every night they have the best seat in the house.”

“How Do I Let You Go” is the first new music from Parmalee since they put out their Fell in Love with a Cowgirl EP in April. The lead single, “Cowgirl,” is currently in the top five and still climbing.

Funeral of former Vice President Dick Cheney held in Washington, D.C.

Current and former political leaders from both sides of the aisle gathered at Washington National Cathedral on Thursday for the funeral of former Vice President Dick Cheney, whose decades in public life made him one of the most consequential figures in modern U.S. politics. Cheney, who died Nov. 3 at age 84 from complications of pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease, was remembered by family, colleagues and longtime aides during the service.

President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden were among those in attendance, along with former Vice Presidents Kamala Harris, Mike Pence, Al Gore and Dan Quayle.  Also present were prominent lawmakers and conservative figures, including Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Sens. Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham, Bill Kristol, Hugh Hewitt and former national security adviser John Bolton. President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance were not invited, according to officials familiar with the arrangements.

President George W. Bush, who relied on Cheney as a central partner throughout his presidency, delivered one of the service’s principal eulogies. He recalled the unusual moment in 2000 when Cheney, then leading Bush’s vice-presidential search, urged him to consider reasons not to choose him. “At such a moment, most in this position would have jumped at the chance. But Dick stayed detached and he analyzed it,” Bush said, noting that despite Cheney’s reservations, he ultimately trusted his own instincts. He remembered telling his father of the choice and hearing, “Son, you couldn’t pick a better man.” Bush later captured the broader sentiment among the mourners as he described Cheney as “a gentleman by nature, and a true man of the west,” reflecting both the divisive and unifying chapters of Cheney’s long career in public service.

The service drew political leaders across the spectrum, as well as Cheney’s daughter, former Rep. Liz Cheney, who later broke with the Trump-era GOP. She and her father became outspoken critics of Donald Trump after the Jan. 6 attack, and both declared in 2024 that they would vote for Kamala Harris.

Liz Cheney honored her father with a tribute that intertwined personal memories and her father’s views on American civic duty. She described how her father’s passion for history shaped her childhood, recalling long visits to Civil War battlegrounds where he insisted on reading every sign. She said the turning point in his life came after hearing President John F. Kennedy challenge students to dedicate themselves to the nation. “I think this is the moment my dad decided what direction his life should take,” she said. Although Kennedy inspired him, Liz Cheney emphasized that her father’s commitment to country always outweighed party loyalties. “Dick Cheney became a Republican, but he knew that bonds of party must always yield to the single bond we share as Americans,” she said. “For him, a choice between defense of the Constitution and defense of your political party was no choice at all.”

Other speakers included Cheney’s longtime cardiologist, Dr. Jonathan Reiner, and former Pentagon press secretary Pete Williams, who shared stories dating back to Cheney’s tenure as defense secretary under President George H.W. Bush. Williams recounted Cheney’s refusal to accept his resignation in 1991, when Williams learned he was about to be publicly outed. “He wouldn’t hear of it,” Williams said, recalling Cheney’s daily calls afterward to ensure he was doing well.
