Don’t call Rex Linn Reba McEntire’s ‘husband’ just yet

Reba McEntire and her fiancé, Rex Linn, got engaged in December 2024, but didn’t tell anyone until September of this year. It’s no wonder that Reba doesn’t want anyone to think they went off and got married without telling anyone.

While appearing on NBC’s Today on Monday, Savannah Guthrie referred to the actor as Reba’s “husband.” “Now, wait a minute. Before everybody has a conniption fit at home, we're just engaged,” Reba corrected Savannah, according to Page Six and Entertainment Weekly.

After Savannah apologized, Reba explained that if she hadn’t corrected her, “My family will go, Wait, you didn't tell us!?'”

“Good point,” Savannah noted. “Fiancé Rex.”

During an appearance on a separate Today show segment, Reba described what she believes their nuptials will look like.

“A Reba Rex wedding is going to be very different,” she said. “It’s going to be low-key, lots of fun, lots of people, lots of food. Our big motto is just have fun.”

Reba and Rex started dating in 2020.

Luke Combs releasing new song on Dec. 5

You may be bummed about returning to work after a four-day break, but at least we have a new Luke Combs song to look forward to this week.

Luke confirmed that his new song “Giving Her Away” will be out on Friday, Dec. 5, in an Instagram post of him performing a decent chunk of the tune. It’s a touching tune written from the perspective of a guy talking to his future father-in-law on his wedding day. The chorus goes, “I’m giving her my name and you’re giving her away.”

Some fans believe that the fact that Luke has chosen to record this song indicates that the baby he and his wife, Nicole, are expecting is a girl.

It’s not clear if “Giving Her Away” will be on Luke’s new album, which is due early next year. So far from the album, we’ve heard the songs “Back In the Saddle,” “Days Like These,” “15 Minutes” and “My Kinda Saturday Night.”
