Meet your newest Opry member: Scotty McCreery

Scotty McCreery is officially a Grand Ole Opry member.

The “Five More Minutes” singer was inducted into the hallowed institution on Saturday by fellow Opry member Josh Turner. Randy Travis and his wife, Mary, were also onstage with Scotty and Josh for the special occasion.

“I stand here tonight proud of the fact that I bridged the gap between the generation of Randy Travis and Scotty McCreery,” Josh said. “Only time will tell who will be inspired by Scotty.”

“Scotty is not only a fine singer and a songwriter but he's a great man, husband and now father,” Josh added. “I'm proud of him and I'm proud that he is filling the shoes of the artists before him. With artists like him, country music is in great shape.”

After being inducted into the Opry and accepting his official Opry Member Award, Scotty shared, “If you've listened to any of my interviews over the last 15 years of doing this, they'd say, ‘What is your biggest goal?’ And I'd always say, ‘One day I wanna be a member of the Grand Ole Opry.'”

“I gotta go home and start writing a new bucket list,” he added.

Scotty performed his latest single, “Cab in a Solo,” “Fall of Summer” from his forthcoming album, Rise & Fall, and Randy’s hit “Three Wooden Crosses” before closing out with “Five More Minutes.”

You can check out photos from Scotty’s induction now on Instagram.

You can watch Scotty’s Opry induction and performance later this spring on Opry Live on the Opry’s Facebook and YouTube channels.

Luke Bryan brushes off onstage fall after slipping on fan's phone: 'My lawyer will be calling'

Luke Bryan is brushing off his recent onstage accident.

The country superstar, 47, slipped on a phone that was on the stage while he was performing in Vancouver over the weekend, sending him crashing to the floor.

“Did anybody get that?” he asked the crowd after getting back to his feet, as seen in fan-captured footage of the incident. “It’s OK, hey, my lawyer will be calling.”

Luke, despite the fall, appeared to be in a joking mood, making fun of the tumble and even replaying the moment on a fan’s phone.

“There it is!” he said. “Hey! I need some viral, this is viral.”

Luke’s American Idol family even checked in with him during Sunday night’s live show.

“Are you damaged in any way?” host Ryan Seacrest asked him.

“What are you talking about, Ryan?” Luke quipped back.

The moment was then replayed for American Idol fans.

One fan who was at the concert, Emily Nicole, told Good Morning America other concertgoers were throwing phones, cowboy boots, cowboy hats, water bottles and more onto the stage.

“People were trying to get their stuff signed,” Nicole recalled. “So they thought the best way to get that to happen was by throwing things on [the] stage, which was not safe at all and just super disrespectful.”

This is hardly the first instance of artists dealing with fans throwing items onstage at concerts.

Just last year, Bebe Rexha was hit in the face when a fan threw their phone at her during a show in New York City. Harry Styles was also hit in the face by a flying object while he was onstage in Vienna last July.

“This is it, man. This is the end of the Whitsitt Chapel era. We started it here with ‘Need a Favor.’ We performed ‘Halfway to Hell’ tonight. And then the next time y’all see me at an award show, God willing, it will be something new,” said Jelly.

While a release date hasn’t been set yet, Jelly says he’s excited to unveil all the songs he’s been working on.

I need to get it out of me.”

“It’s therapeutic for me,” he adds, before sharing what inspires him. “I got to see so much last year and meet so many people and experience so much. I do how I do dialogue best, and I wrote it in a song.”

Kelsea Ballerini files for temporary restraining order against alleged hacker who released her songs

Kelsea Ballerini has filed for a temporary restraining order against an alleged hacker for illegally sharing her music online.

As reported by People, the alleged hacker, Bo Ewing, is accused of unlawfully obtaining and releasing “still-in-production, unreleased masters and demos” of Ballerini’s music, per court documents reviewed by the publication. Ballerini, her label home Black River Entertainment and producer Alysa Vanderheym are listed as plaintiffs.

The Ohio-based alleged hacker is identified as “a former member of Ms. Ballerini's fan club” and “a supporter of her career in the past” who “has since become disenfranchised with Ms. Ballerini.” Court documents state that Ewing got hold of the files “through gaining back-door access to the device of either, or both, of Ms. Ballerini or Ms. Vanderheym.”

The plaintiffs also posited Ewing “had already shared the files with multiple third parties and that the music in question was unfinished,” per People.

An injunction to protect the recordings has been secured by the country star, Black River Entertainment and Vanderheym to protect the recordings, citing “continued, irreparable harm” on the plaintiff’s end.

“Protection of an artist's music is of the upmost importance,” a spokesperson for Ballerini told People exclusively. “Artists spend countless hours perfecting their craft and telling their stories through their music. Stealing and sharing unfinished music is illegal and harms the integrity of the creative process.”

Ballerini’s latest project is her seven-track Rolling Up The Welcome Mat (For Good) EP, which was preceded by 2022’s SUBJECT TO CHANGE. She’s currently working on and gearing up to release new music.

You can read the full story now on People‘s website.
