Love after “Wishful Drinking”: Ingrid Andress releases “Feel Like This”

Ingrid Andress‘ follow-up to her latest number one is the emotional “Feel Like This.” The singer/songwriter most recently topped the chart in mid-November with Sam Hunt and “Wishful Drinking.”

With a hook that says “I don’t know what this is, but I think love’s supposed to feel like this,” the new single focuses on what it feels like to experience true romance for the first time. Similarly, the sexy video follows Ingrid as she she goes through both a bad and a good relationship.

“Feel Like This” was co-written by pop artist Julia Michaels, who topped the chart in 2018 with her collaboration with Keith Urban, “Coming Home.” The new single is from Ingrid’s sophomore album, Good Person, which came out last August.

Drama unfolds as Ashley McBryde urges “Brenda Put Your Bra On”

Ashley McBryde‘s latest update from the fictional town of Lindeville has arrived, in the form of her new video, “Brenda Put Your Bra On.”

The tune is the opening track from her Grammy-nominated Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville album and chronicles a domestic disturbance in a trailer park.

“As soon as we recorded this song, we knew we wanted to make a video for it. It's the start of the action in Lindeville,” Ashley explains. “There were a lot of ways we could have shot the video, yet [director] Reid [Long] had the idea to capture all the insanity and drama in one continuous take, which feels very in tune with the spirit of this entire project.”

Caylee Hammack and Pillbox Patti join Ashley on the track, which was produced by Brothers Osborne‘s John Osborne. Sibling TJ also appears on the album, along with Brandy Clark and others.

The Lindeville troupe will come together February 15 and 16 to perform the album at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium.

Dolly's got “Peace Like a River” with the legendary Dionne Warwick

Dolly Parton‘s finding “Peace Like a River” with the legendary Dionne Warwick

The pop/R&B icon revealed the collaboration Tuesday on Tamron Hall, teasing the gospel track that Dolly wrote.

“She’s such a sweetheart,” Dionne added of Dolly. “I love her.”

Dionne went on to say the duet is extra special because of Dolly’s connection to her late cousin Whitney Houston, who of course took Dolly’s signature “I Will Always Love You” to new heights with her 1992 recording.

“It’s preordained. God’s got a purpose,” Dionne predicted of the new song.

So far, we don’t know when we’ll be able to hear “Peace Like a River.” Dolly’s also busy working on her rock album, following her induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last year.

Suspect in University of Idaho killings planning to waive extradition to return to Idaho

The attorney for Bryan Kohberger — the suspect in the fatal stabbings of four University of Idaho students — plans to waive extradition at a hearing on Tuesday. Jason LaBar, the chief public defender for Monroe County, Pennsylvania (where Kohberger was arrested) said that his client planned to waive extradition to expedite his return to Idaho. According to a statement LaBar released Sunday on their behalf, Kohberger’s family said “there are no words that can adequately express the sadness we feel.”

University of Idaho students Madison Mogen, 21, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and her boyfriend, Ethan Chapin, 20, were stabbed to death in an off-campus home in Moscow, Idaho back in November 2022. Kohberger was arrested on Friday in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains after authorities had tracked him down. Police in Moscow, Idaho had been looking for a white Elantra as a possible piece of evidence; and a Hyundai Elantra was removed from Kohberger’s home in Pennsylvania on Friday. Moscow Police Chief James Fry said at a press conference Friday: “These murders have shaken our community and no arrest will ever bring back these young students. However, we do believe justice will be found through the criminal process.”

Latah County prosecutor Bill Thompson said that Kohberger, a graduate student at Washington State University, was charged with four counts of first-degree murder and felony burglary.

Canadian country music legend Ian Tyson dies at age 89

The family of Canadian country music icon Ian Tyson confirmed the news of his passing in an official press release, stating he passed away from ongoing health complications after having spent his final days at his southern Alberta ranch.  Tyson was 89.

Tyson was a legend in the Canadian music scene as a folk, Western, and country-rock singer-songwriter, beginning his career as one-half of the folk duo Ian & Sylvia in 1959. By 1961, the pair became a full-fledged folk act, and them married in 1964. The duo would go on to found and front the country-rock group, The Great Speckled Bird, in 1969.  The pair released over a dozen albums, writing and performing hits like Tyson’s “Four Strong Winds” and “Someday Soon,” and Sylvia’s “You Were on My Mind.” Their songs have been covered countless times by the likes of Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Judy Collins, and the couple mentored aspiring Canadian singer Gordon Lightfoot.

By 1975, Ian & Sylvia were divorced and stopped making music together. Tyson went on to train horses in the ranch country of the Canadian West, but still continued to play and record music. In 1989, he was inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame and was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame alongside Sylvia in 1992. Tyson last single, “You Should Have Known,” was released in September 2017.
