As his 'Heartland' album nears, Nelly teases another Kane Brown collaboration

Kane Brown and rapper Nelly have already teamed up once for a 2020 “Cool Again” remix, but it seems that the pair aren't yet done working together.

This week, Nelly shared a smiling snapshot of himself to Instagram, hinting in the caption at some of the collaborations that fans can expect to hear on his upcoming Heartland project, which is due out August 27.

He mentioned his duet with Florida Georgia Line, “Lil Bit,” which fans have already heard, as well as a previously-announced team-up with Blanco Brown and Breland called “High Horse.”

But also listed is a song called “Gritz & Glamour,” which Nelly says features Kane. He hasn't yet shared any more details about the song. On a recent appearance on an episode of Breland's Land of the BRE podcast, however, the rapper spoke about why he wanted to collaborate with country artists — and specifically, Black country artists — on his new album.

“But then also inviting more Black artists that are into country. Because I don't know if they know, but we're everywhere!” Nelly explains.

“…And then you had the OG who's no longer with us anymore, Charley Pride. And just imagined some of the things he probably went through…Just being who he is, though. Not trying to be somebody else, but being who he naturally is,” he continues. “Country music is from the heart. It's the stories. And I mean, we all have stories, so this isn't the end of the road, so to speak.”

Fellow North Carolinian Kelly Kirk tweeted Luke Combs for help purchasing school supplies for her classroom.

Kelly Kirk, a teacher at Raleigh’s Wakefield Elementary School, used Twitter to recruit a few celebrities to assist her this year in purchasing school supplies for her classroom. Teachers — particularly those in underfunded schools — are using social media for help to buy supplies they’ll need to teach their students as part of the #CleartheList social media campaign. Art supplies, building materials, animal figurines, and other items were on her wish list.

Summerfest 2021 will require attendees to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test

Earlier this year, Milwaukee's all-genre Summerfest announced its return in September of 2021, featuring a lineup of 100+ headliners that includes, from the country genre, Luke Bryan, Chris Stapleton and Zac Brown Band.

Now, the festival has announced new COVID-19 safety protocols in place for attendees. Those coming to the show will need to show proof of either COVID-19 vaccination or a current negative COVID-19 test in order to enter the festival grounds.

That entrance protocol will be in effect for the festival's Wednesday Weekend Preview Concerts. It'll also apply to a Milwaukee World Festival-produced show being given by country act Little Big Town on Friday, August 13 at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater.

More information is available at the festival's website. Additionally, those not fully vaccinated can find information on local testing availability before they head to the event.

The new protocol comes on the heels of an announcement from Live Nation, which recently decided that they'll allow the touring artists they work with to require proof of vaccination or a negative test from event attendees.

The Milwaukee, Wisconsin festival will return this September after being postponed from its usual June and July dates due to ongoing concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic also forced Summerfest to cancel its event in 2020.

Thomas Rhett's cowboy hat collection is the star of his first-ever TikTok dance

In the spirit of his fun-loving new song, “Redneck Be Like,” Thomas Rhett is trying something new. The singer grabbed a dozen or so of his closest friends to help him pull off a TikTok dance set to his new single.

It's his first-ever dance on the social media app, and the singer jokingly wrote in his caption, “Never thought I'd see the day where I'd be doing a TikTok dance, but here we are.”

The clip is set to the chorus of “Redneck Be Like,” and shows off Thomas' choreographed dance moves. But the real star of the show is his hat collection: The singer and his backup dancers all wear cowboy hats in the video, which is filmed in front of a wall decorated with — you guessed it — even more hats.

As it happens, Thomas' wall of hats — and the room in his house where they reside — was featured in the August/September 2021 issue of House Beautiful. In the magazine, the country star and his wife, Lauren, invited fans inside their Nashville-area home, with designer April Tomlin explaining the inspirations behind their home decor.

According to the article, TR's hat wall was assembled from his own personal collection of cowboy hats, supplemented with others found on Etsy, and is located in a “low-key eating area in the basement” of his home.

On TikTok, the singer invited fans to tag him in their own versions of the “Redneck Be Like” dance.

You can also catch Thomas' live performance of “Redneck Be Like” when he hits the road for the return of his The Center Point Road Tour this week.
