The JAMA Network Open has published a study that indicates mother-to-baby COVID 19 transmission during pregnancy is a rare occurrence. In Canada only 4% of babies born to mothers infected with coronavirus during pregnancy tested positive after birth.

On this date in 1976, two country stars put out a duet album, Golden Ring. Though one of several projects they recorded and released together, this is the only one that would ever become a number-one album. It also arrived a year after the two artists divorced in 1975. Can you name this legendary pair? ANSWER: George Jones and Tammy Wynette.
With a multi-week #1 like “Famous Friends,”Chris Young reveals there was little debate over what his long-awaited new album would be called. Throw in some special guests, and the deal was sealed.
“When we are having the conversation…” Chris recalls, “I was like, ‘Well, there’s more guest appearances than I’ve ever had on one project before, if you go down and you look at Lauren Alaina, Kane [Brown], then obviously Mitchell Tenpenny on “At the End of a Bar.”‘”
But for Chris, it was really more than that.
“I was like, that’s kind of a cool way to talk about that this record really is a culmination of all the people that I’ve met and run into,” he explains, “and everybody during the craziness that’s been the past year-and-a-half kinda putting their arms around this project… putting my arms around them and huddling up and going, ‘Okay, let’s make some great music.'”
Chris isn’t too proud to admit that adding other stellar vocalists also forces him to up his game.
“The whole time, I’m like, ‘You better not mess this up because people are gonna notice…'” he confesses. “And especially a song that ends up being vocally challenging is always fun for me.”
“Even if it’s [when] I’ve got one of those days where I’m on the road and you’ve like been out for months…” he continues, “It’s like, ‘Why did I do this to myself again? Why did I make this so high?’ Who cares? Because they’re fun to sing. And I do like standing on a stage next to someone that’s as vocally talented as… Lauren.”
Famous Friends is out now, and also features background vocals by Dan + Shay‘s Shay Mooney, who co-wrote the track “Town Ain’t Big Enough.”
Zac Brown Band's new music video for their single, “Same Boat,” follows people of all different walks of life. Whether they're city dwellers, rural farmers, fishermen or rodeo stars, one thing is clear: People across the world have more commonalities than they do differences.
“Same Boat” came out in June, and with its message of unity and togetherness, the song is currently inside country radio's top 20.
“[Same Boat] is really about the human condition,” frontman Zac Brown explained when the group first put the song out. “It's about how we all go through the same things, all together. It is a chance to remind people to be positive, be good to each other and show empathy.”
“You don't know what it's like to walk around in someone else's shoes,” Zac continued. “Let's spread some love around and show kindness to each other.”
Since releasing “Same Boat,” ZBB has continued to drop new music throughout the summer, including two songs that were co-written by country superstar Luke Combs. The band is currently on the road for their The Comeback Tour.
The doubled-up song fun continues for Cody Johnson, who is making good on his promise to fans to put out two new songs each month leading up to the October release of his double album.
In August, the two songs on deck are “Let's Build a Fire” and “Driveway,” a pair of tracks full of vivid, nostalgic imagery.
Perfectly timed for the beginning of the fall season, “Let's Build a Fire” is a literal homage to autumn, celebrating chillier temperatures, football season and — of course — Friday night bonfires. Uptempo and bluesy, the song was written by fellow country singer Chris Janson, along with songwriter Mitch Oglesby.
Meanwhile, “Driveway” celebrates a different kind of nostalgia, as Cody reminisces about the warmth and comfort of being at his grandparents' house.
“Let's Build a Fire' and Driveway' are the perfect two songs to get geared up for the fall season,” the singer says. “I'm very fortunate to have been able to cut both of these tracks. I was even able to play my grandfather's old J45 [acoustic guitar] on Driveway,' which is a special memory I'll never forget.”
While the full double album isn't due out quite yet, fans can get their Cody fix beginning next week with the release of Dear Rodeo: The Cody Johnson Story, a documentary about his life and career in the rodeo and country music.
Luke Bryan recounts the early musical experiences he shared with his older brother, Chris, in his newly released tune “Songs You Never Heard.”
In the lyrics of the track, Luke tips his hat to country greats like Keith Whitley, Clint Black and George Strait. But there's a tragic twist to the story he tells in the song: Chris died in a car accident when Luke was just 19 years old.
In the years that have elapsed since his brother's death, a huge amount of great country music has come out — including Luke's own massive catalog of hits. Now, he sings in the song, he can't help but think of tunes like Strait's 2001 hit “Run,” which his brother would have loved, if he'd been alive to hear it when it was released.
“Time marches on, there's a lot of new/ Music and memories we'd be drinking to/ I think about it and I laugh until it hurts,” Luke sings. “Cause I can hear you singing along/ To songs you never heard.”
Luke also opens up about his brother's death in the five-part docuseries Luke Bryan: My Dirt Road Diary, which is available to watch now via Amazon's free streaming service IMDb TV.
Scotty McCreery is hoping to bring fans together with his brand-new “Same Truck,” a song that points out that we've all got more in common than we might realize.
“But we're all in the same truck / Heading down a different two lane / Kickin' up the same dust / Praying for the same rain,” Scotty sings in the song's soaring chorus. “Closing down the same bars / Different wishes on the same stars…”
The song is the title track of his upcoming album, which is due to arrive on September 17. Also on the project's track list is “Why You Gotta Be Like That” and his current top-ten hit, “You Time.”
The truth behind “Same Truck” is one that's become clearer to Scotty the more he tours and travels, he says.
“We're all more alike than we are different. I've witnessed that on almost a daily basis as I talk with people and watch them while traveling around the world to perform,” he reflects. “This is my way of saying that we're all on the same team here; let's all work toward getting along again. Let's build each other up.”
While Scotty's fans may all be driving the “Same Truck,” they've got the chance to pre-order a different — and exclusive — version of the new album starting this week. The limited-edition version of Same Truck features alternate cover art.
Miranda Lambert dropped the music video for her first-ever dance remix earlier this week, recasting her song “Tequila Does” as a fun, rainbow-studded, Pride-themed trailer park party.
The singer brought that vision to life with help from her brother Luke, his husband Marc, and a host of members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies. Now, in a new interview with GLAAD, Miranda says that she strives to keep learning and keep advocating for equality.
“I do think we are in a moment of change, and I have so much to learn,” the singer says. “…Being in a family where I am surrounded by LGBTQ people, it has me learning and figuring out how I can be a part of the change and still be the same person I have been as an artist for 20 years. I don't see why those worlds can't mesh.”
Miranda supports equality for all people just as she supports fair treatment for animals, she goes on to say, pointing to her longstanding commitment to supporting shelter pets through her MuttNation Foundation.
“I speak up about things I care about!” the singer adds. “If I can be a part of this change in any way…I always want to do that.”
The Telemitry Remix of “Tequila Does” is out now. The original version of the song appears on Miranda's Wildcard album, which she released in 2019.
Jake Owen returns with new music this week, releasing his romantic new single, “Best Thing Since Backroads.”
As country music sets its sights on a return to touring and road life, Jake's new song waxes poetic about the breezy, simple pleasure of driving two-lane highways — and the equally euphoric feeling of finding true love.
“It's always exciting releasing new music,” the singer says. “It feels great being back out on the road and bringing happiness to people. I always strive to record songs that make you feel good. This one is going to be a lot of fun to play.”
“Best Thing Since Backroads” is the first taste of new music from Jake since the 2019 release of his Greetings From…Jake album, which produced four singles. The most recent of those, “Made for You,” is his latest number-one hit.
