Keith Urban to kick-off the North America leg of ‘The Speed of Now’ tour in June 2022

Keith Urban announced on social media Wednesday the 2022 North American dates for his The Speed of Now world tour.

The 54-year-old Urban will kick-off the North American leg on June 17, 2022, in Tampa, Fla. before wrapping up Nov. 5 in St. Paul, Minn. Ingrid Andress will join Urban as his opening act. Urban will perform his hits and new songs from his album The Speed of Now Part 1, released in September.

Urban shared with People magazine that he’s looking forward to “re-igniting that person-to-person connection I feel with everyone that comes out to see our shows. It’s pure magic when you look out and see everyone just letting loose. I’ve really missed that! After two years we’re finally gonna get the chance to play some of the new songs we haven’t done live before. We’ll throw in a bunch of the songs that everyone comes to hear, a couple of which we’ll rework a bit, and it’s really gonna be tough to get us off the stage.”

It's “Officially Christmas”: Dan + Shay ring in the holiday season with a warm and cozy new music video

For many who celebrate Christmas, the week after Thanksgiving is the time to bring home a tree, string up the lights and break out the festive decor.

It seems that Dan + Shay are inclined to kick off the holiday season now, too. On Wednesday, they shared a new music video for their song, “Officially Christmas.”

Wearing tuxedos and performing against a red-and-green backdrop decked out with twinkling trees, the duo don't skimp on the seasonal cheer as they perform for the camera. Elsewhere, the clip shows scenes of a family gathering around a fireplace for the holidays.

Dan + Shay have released a handful of Christmas songs over the past couple of years, including “Pick Out a Christmas Tree” earlier this year. That song is currently the most-streamed holiday number across all genres in the U.S.

Next up, the duo is bringing “Officially Christmas” to the stage of NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Catch their performance on December 6.

Garth Brooks books a 2022 Stadium Tour date in Baton Rouge

Garth Brooks is continuing to pile up 2022 Stadium Tour dates. The singer just announced a stop in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for Saturday, April 30.

The show will mark Garth's first Louisiana date in nearly five years, and it'll also be the first time he's ever played this particular venue, Tiger Stadium. You should act fast to grab your seat: It's the only time Garth is planning to play Louisiana or Mississippi in 2022.

Garth resumed booking dates on his Stadium Tour last month. He'd hit the brakes on booking new shows earlier in the year amid the continuing COVID-19 pandemic. In the meantime, he continued his Dive Bar Tour of smaller shows, and also performed a handful of intimate shows at legendary Nashville venues the Ryman and the Grand Ole Opry.

As ever, Garth's newest Stadium Tour date will feature in-the-round style seating, and tickets sell for $94.95, all-inclusive. You can snag your spot at the show beginning Friday, December 10 at 10 a.m. CT.

Trevor Noah to return as host of the 2022 Grammy Awards

A familiar face will host next year’s 64th Annual Grammy Awards. The Daily Show‘s Trevor Noah will return in the role and induct a new class of Grammy winners on January 31.

Next year’s award show will be held at the newly renamed Crypto.com Arena — formerly the Staples Center — in Los Angeles, California.

Trevor last held down the fort for the pandemic-delayed 63rd Grammy Awards on March 14. This continues a streak LL Cool J started in 2012, where every host has returned for at least two consecutive stints. James Corden hosted both the 2017 and 2018 ceremonies, followed by Alicia Keys‘ back-to-back appearances in 2019 and 2020.

Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, said in a statement, “We're so excited to welcome Trevor back to the GRAMMYs stage and feel fortunate to once again have him hosting what we believe will be an unforgettable evening.”  He also called Trevor an “amazing” host and said he garnered “praise from the music community, music fans and critics” during 2021’s socially-distanced ceremony.

Although the host will remain the same, things will run a little differently for next year’s nominees. Last week, the Recording Academy announced some changes in the so-called Big Four categories. For first time in Grammy history, there are 10 nominees up for Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Best New Artist.

Artist Jon Batiste heads into the ceremony with a leading 11 nominations.  Justin BieberDoja Cat and H.E.R. are also top nominees, with eight nods each.

The 64th Annual Grammy Awards will air January 31 starting at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.

Keith Urban reveals plans to hit the road in 2022, plus new Las Vegas residency dates

Keith Urban is gearing up for a big return to the stage in 2022, starting with three new dates in Las Vegas.

Next Memorial Day weekend, Keith will return to the Colosseum at Caesar's Palace to continue his Keith Urban Live – Las Vegas residency. The three shows are booked for May 27-29, and tickets go on sale next Friday, December 10 at 10 a.m. PST.

But that's just the beginning for fans hoping to see Keith live in concert next year: In June, he's launching his The Speed of Now World Tour. He'll kick off the North American leg of the run June 17 in Tampa, with an extensive list of dates on the books between then and when the tour wraps in November 2022. Ingrid Andress will join Keith for the North American leg of The Speed of Now World Tour.

In a video announcement, Keith addressed his fans from his backyard, where he was busily prepping for the live show. In a series of comedic maneuvers, Keith tries his best to capture the energy of a sold-out show, but the grassy lawn is now match for a packed arena, and his unimpressed gardeners are a far cry from screaming fans.

“I've always considered myself a live performer first,” explains Keith, on a more serious note. “It's what I've always done and it's what my music needs to live and breathe. Our shows are all about living in the moment. They're a totally interactive and immersive experience where everyone can participate in whatever way they want — sing, dance, do whatever.”

For dates and details on how to snag your tickets to Keith's upcoming tour, visit his website.

3 dead, 6 injured after shooting at Michigan high school

Sheriff’s officials have confirmed that at least three people were killed and six others injured on Tuesday after a shooting at a southeast Michigan high school. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said deputies arrested the suspected shooter — a 15-year-old sophomore student at the school — and recovered a handgun, adding that they don’t believe there were any other shooters involved. A statement from the sheriff’s office said: “There was no resistance during the arrest and the suspect has asked for a lawyer and has not made any statements as to a motive.” Undersheriff Mike McCabe said about 15 to 20 shots were fired during the shooting, and that the suspected shooter was not injured.

Officials received reports of an active shooter at Oxford High School in Oxford Township at 12:51 p.m. Oxford Township is located about 35 miles northwest of Detroit. The sheriff’s office said three people died in the shooting and six others, including a teacher, were injured. WXYZ-TV in Detroit reported that officials believe the dead were students, saying that multiple medical helicopters arrived on the scene, but it’s unclear if any transported victims to a local hospital.  Students were evacuated from the school and were reunited with parents and guardians at a nearby grocery store. Oxford Community Schools Superintendent Tim Thorne said: “Pray for our families here in Oxford and our students.”

U.S. Rep Elissa Slotkin, D-Mich., said she was en route to Michigan, adding in a statement: “This is a dark & painful day for Michigan. I send my deepest condolences to the families of the three students who have lost their lives — they have received the worst news any parent can ever imagine. We must continue to pray and hope for the additional students and teacher who have been injured, and for the students who are in shock right now. They will somehow have to make sense of one of their peers doing this to them.”
