Brett Young joins newcomer Ashley Cooke for an upcoming performance on ABC's 'The Bachelorette'

Brett Young's known for his crooning love songs, which makes him a perfect fit for “Never Til Now,” his romantic duet with rising star Ashley Cooke.

Now, the two artists are upping the romance even further: They're bringing their song to the set of ABC's The Bachelorette for a performance that will be Ashley's national TV debut. The two country singers’ appearance will come in the second episode of Season 19 and is scheduled to air Monday, July 18 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

“It's been incredible to see how my song Never Til Now' has resonated with so many people in so many phases of love, whether they've found their person or they're manifesting it through these lyrics,” Ashley says of the song, which came out in April.

Meanwhile, Brett's busy on the road this summer. In November, he's going overseas for a string of shows in Scandinavia, Germany and the U.K.

Ashley McBryde is returning to the road, tells fans her time off was “something that could not be avoided”

Ashley McBryde is returning to the stage this weekend after taking a couple of weeks off. The singer shared an update with her fans on social media, saying that she's “so excited” to be reunited with her fans.

The singer announced a short touring hiatus in late June. At the time, a message from her team cited “personal reasons” for the break, without going into specifics.

In her update, Ashley didn’t share exactly what's been keeping her from touring the past couple of weeks, but she did promise to go into further detail when she's ready.

“I didn't anticipate having to take time away,” she reflected. “However, it was something that could not be avoided. More on that someday.”

For now, Ashley's looking ahead to her busy summer of touring with enthusiasm. “Thank you for the outpouring of love and support. Now back to business, a little spackle, a little sparkle…see you this weekend Trybe!” she concluded.

Ashley is currently part of Dierks Bentley's Beers on Me Tour. In her absence, Dierks enlisted his “Worth a Shot” duet partner, Elle King, to perform in the direct support slot for a few shows.

FDA authorizes emergency use of Novavax COVID-19 vaccine

The Food and Drug Administration issued an emergency use authorization for Novavax’s COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday. The two-shot vaccine was authorized for use in people 18 years and older.

FDA Commissioner Dr. Robert M. Califf said in a statement: “Authorizing an additional COVID-19 vaccine expands the available vaccine options for the prevention of COVID-19, including the most severe outcomes that can occur such as hospitalization and death. Today’s authorization offers adults in the United States, who have not yet received a COVID-19 vaccine, another option that meets the FDA’s rigorous standards for safety, effectiveness and manufacturing quality need to support emergency use authorization.”

The vaccine contains an added ingredient to produce a stronger immune response; and is a more traditional type of vaccine, in that it employs a whole, deactivated virus. The two other widely used COVID-19 vaccines, by Moderna and Pfizer, are mRNA-based.

Earlier in the week, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced that the Biden administration had secured 3.2 million doses of Novavax’s COVID-19 vaccine. If the CDC signs off on use of the vaccine, it will be made available for free to U.S. states and jurisdictions shortly thereafter.

Severe storms in West Virginia result in heavy flooding, leaving approximately 40 people unaccounted for

Officials said on Thursday that over 40 people are unaccounted for and more than 100 homes have been damaged or destroyed due to severe flooding throughout Western Virginia on Wednesday. The Virginia Department of Emergency Management said that beginning on Tuesday through early Wednesday morning, torrential rain caused flash flooding in Buchanan County, Virginia, as well as widespread power outages and damages to roads and homes.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office said that 44 people, including children, in the Whitewood area were “unaccounted for.”  The Sheriff’s office added: “This does not mean the person is missing, it means we are attempting to reach and locate the person and check on their wellbeing.”  No fatalities have been confirmed.  Officials said search-and-rescue efforts are being made difficult as many roadways are blocked by landslides and approaches to bridges are washed out.

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin declared a state of emergency in response to the floods, saying in a statement: “We are deeply saddened to learn that another flood has impacted a community still recovering from last year’s flood. In the wake of the devastation, I want Virginians in Buchanan County to know that we are making every resource available to help those impacted by this storm.”

Additionally in eastern Tennessee, severe thunderstorms prompted the evacuation of more than 400 people from a campground on the Little Pigeon River. No injuries were reported in the Tennessee flooding, but officials said that vehicles and debris from the Greenbrier Campground were washed downstream by floodwaters.

After two years off, Carrie Underwood is “chomping at the bit” to get her Denim & Rhinestones tour rolling

It's hard to believe, but it's been nearly two years since Carrie Underwood headed out on a major headlining tour.

“We were fortunate enough to get our Cry Pretty Tour all in by the end of 2019. And it's been that long since we've been out on the road,” she explains. “We've done some shows here and there at festivals and things like that, but haven't been on a proper tour.”

Of course, that doesn't mean she hasn't been busy. During the COVID pandemic-induced road hiatus, Carrie put out a Christmas album — My Gift — and a gospel album — My Savior — plus mounted her very own Las Vegas residency and duetted with Jason Aldean on the chart-topping “If I Didn't Love You.” Of course, she also recorded and released a new album of her own, Denim & Rhinestones.

But the Denim & Rhinestones Tour, which kicks off this fall, will mark her first official headlining return to tour life, and Carrie says her whole team is more than ready.

“I feel like everybody's chomping at the bit, to be honest,” she admits.

“You don't realize how much you love something until you can't do it,” the singer reflects as she looks forward to the tour ahead. “There's going to be a lot of energy. Jimmie Allen's coming out on the road with us. He's just a great performer, super talented, super nice guy. And I just feel like it's gonna be a lot of fun.”

The tour kicks off October 15, and it'll run into March 2023.

Watch the trailer for the new documentary ‘The Return of Tanya Tucker’

The first trailer for the forthcoming documentary, The Return of Tanya Tucker, has been released. The film, due out this fall, will chronicle Tucker’s career resurgence in 2019 following her album While I’m Livin’, which was co-produced and largely written by Brandi Carlile.  You can take a look at the trailer – here.

The documentary chronicles Tucker’s career and how she found her way back into country music, decades after she faded from the spotlight, with the help of Carlile.  Carlile says in the trailer: “I have loved Tanya Tucker since I was eight years old. Tanya’s voice is in all of us that sing country music. And it’s time for us to do an about-face and recognize that.”

The Return of Tanya Tucker uses archival footage to tell the story of Tucker’s career, as well as contemporary footage from the recording process of While I’m Livin’.  That album brought Tucker her very first Grammy Awards in 2020 — winning Best Country Album, as well as Best Country Song for one of its tracks, “Bring My Flowers Now.”

Cardi B shares the video for “Hot Sh*t” featuring Kanye West and Lil Durk

Cardi B has dropped the music video for her new track “Hot Sh*t” featuring Kanye West and Lil Durk. The video, directed by Lado Kvataniya, arrives less than two weeks after Cardi dropped the collab with Ye and Durk for her first single since ‘Up.”

The new visual kicks-off with Cardi standing on a platform on top of a skyscraper, defying the laws of gravity. The video features shots of Lil Durk and Kanye West separately, with Ye’s part animated. In an interview earlier this month, Cardi explained that the music video for the song was delayed because of the CGI technology. “I couldn’t maneuver or move how I wanted to, because I was very confused. After I finished the video, I find out that this s**t takes so long. I did this video around March, and it’s still not even ready yet. And it’s just so frustrating that I’m like, ‘You know what? Just put the f***ing song out. I don’t even give a f**k anymore. I’m over it.’”
