Margo Price teams up with Mavis Staples and Adia Victoria on anthem for human rights “Fight to Make It”

Margo Price has teamed ujp with Mavis Staples and Adia Victora for the new collaboration “Fight to Make It.” Sales of the song on Bandcamp will benefit ‘Noise for Now‘ and its mission of supporting grassroots organizations working for reproductive justice.  Victoria released her own single “In the Pines” to support the Carolina Abortion Fund in May, and Staples’ musical collaboration with the late Levon Helm was documented in the live album Carry Me Home.

Price said in a statement about “Fight To Make It”:  “Every day I see more of our rights stripped away in America. The right to reproductive health in this country has become a luxury for the wealthy. The United States has a higher maternal death rate than any other developed country. Black women in particular experience maternal mortality at a rate two to three times higher than white women. When we stand together and sing together we are stronger.”

You can catch Price out on the road, with multiple festival stops scheduled through the end of the year. For a full list of upcoming concert dates and ticketing information, head to Price’s official website.

Russell Dickerson is getting real about life on the road.

Russell has spent the past six months on tour with Tim McGraw and admits that road life can be grueling at times. But the main factor keeping him grounded is his family, as evidenced by a sweet photo he shared of him with his wife, Kailey, and their infant son, Remington

“Feel like we've been running 300 miles an hour for 6 months straight. I love what we do but it's taxing too. But lookin at moments like this, on the road, with my 2 humans, life's pretty daggum good,” Russell writes alongside an adorable photo of him and Kailey, all smiles as the singer holds his 1-year-old son upside down, Remington laughing all the while.

Kelsea Ballerini's new album is “heavily influenced” by '90s country, drops hints on its release date

Kelsea Ballerini is dropping all kinds of hints in regards to her upcoming album.

The hit singer took to TikTok yesterday to answer a variety of fan questions related to new music. “I’ve been super hesitant to share anything before it’s super ready because things have just been so subject to change the last few years, but it’s ready,” Kelsea says with a big smile about the upcoming album. “So more soon.”

She goes on to describe the sound of the record as “different than anything I’ve ever done,” as it’s “heavily influenced” by ’90s music of all genres but “definitely 90s female country.”

“I feel like you have to be true to your heart and your art, and that’s always what I’ve done, and this time around it really led me back to country, country,” she explains, adding that it also has a “pop flavor.”

When posed with the question of when the album will be arriving, Kelsea played coy but not without giving a big hint, zooming in on her necklace displaying a symbol of Virgo, the astrological sign that spans from August 23 to September 22. The singer will celebrate her 29th birthday on September 12.

As for when fans will hear her next single, it may be sooner than they think. “Not yes, but not no, and not after this time next week,” she hints in response to a fan inquiring if they can expect a new single soon.

Kelsea dropped the video for her current top 30 single, “Heartfirst,” on Friday.

The show must go on: Luke Bryan falls on stage but keeps singing

Luke Bryan took a tumble on stage, but he didn’t let it stop the show.

Performing in Raleigh over the weekend, a video captured by a fan shows the superstar busting out his signature hip swivels and singing his hit “That’s My Kinda Night” before accidentally slipping and falling onto his back. But like the pro he is, Luke kept the show going, continuing to sing while laying on his back — and throwing in a few hip thrusts for good measure.

The hitmaker was good-humored about the incident as two members of his stage crew tried to help him up, Luke singing all the while. Once he made it back on his feet, Luke couldn’t help but laugh it off and kept on dancing.

Just before the 4th of July, Luke dropped his patriotic new single, “Country On.” He continues on his Raised Up Right Tour through the end of October.

Fire destroys historic Veranda House Hotel on Nantucket Island, MA

A massive fire destroyed the historic Veranda House Hotel on Nantucket Island in Massachusetts over the weekend, spreading to several other buildings. Firefighters with the Nantucket Fire Department responded to the blaze around 6:46 a.m. on Saturday after multiple reports of a fire at the hotel, the department said in a news release. Photos posted to Twitter by the fire department show the Veranda House Hotel up in flames; the hotel could be seen charred black with no roof remaining after the fire was put out. Fire officials added: “Due to the proximity of several buildings the fire did spread to several other buildings. Extensive fire developed in at least two of the buildings.”

Nantucket fire officials said: “An off-duty captain and several civilians ran to the location upon hearing of the fire and assisted in removing guests from the hotel. The captain and others entered into dangerous conditions without protective equipment to assure everyone got out of the building.” Officials said two people were found in a hallway and were helped to safety before firefighters arrived. No injuries to civilians were reported, but two firefighters were taken to a local hospital for possible heat exhaustion and a third for a back injury.

Personnel from other Cape Cod departments were called in to assist the Nantucket Fire Department. Several of the buildings were described as “total losses”. The Nantucket Historical Association notes that the Veranda House Hotel was purchased in 1881 and converted into a boarding house, with electric lights added in 1889 and a new porch installed in 1903.  The hotel said in a statement With the support of all the first responders, and our local community members, we can confirm that all employees and guests are safely evacuated and accounted for.  The safety and security of our guests, team, and community is our top priority and we will continue to work closely with emergency responders and safety authorities. The Veranda House team is deeply grateful to the Nantucket Fire Department and first responders for their quick action taken during this incident.”
