Hurricane Ian forecast to hit Florida’s west coast late Wednesday evening as possible Category 4 storm

Hurricane Ian was predicted to strengthen to a Category 4 storm as it targets Florida.  According to the National Hurricane Center, the hurricane made landfall in Cuba about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday just southwest of La Coloma in the western province of Pinar del Río with maximum sustained winds of 125 mph.

Forecasters expect the storm to continue to intensify as it makes it way north toward the west coast of Florida. Tampa and St. Petersburg had appeared to be among the most likely targets for their first direct hit by a major hurricane in a century, but path projection now show Ian expected to hit further south along the coast. Mandatory and voluntary evacuation orders are in place in eight Florida counties: Charlotte, Hillsborough, Levy, Lee, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas and Sarasota.  Ian is expected to bring 6 to 12 inches of rain to central-west Florida, 4 to 8 inches to the rest of the peninsula and 4 to 6 inches to the Keys through Thursday.  Winds of at least 130 mph are probable.

With hurricane-force winds extending 40 miles out from its center Tuesday evening, it is anticipated that more areas of Florida will be exposed to dangerous storm impacts once the storm moves onshore in about 24 hours. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said in a Tuesday evening news conference: “You’re going to see impacts all the way to the east coast of Florida. This thing is the real deal. It is a major, major storm.  This is going to be a lot of impacts that will be felt far and wide throughout the state of Florida. As the storm moves in, you’re going to potentially have (evacuation) directives issued from folks in the interior of our state or even the east coast of the state for low-lying areas that absolutely could end up flooding …Heed those instructions.”

Reba McEntire was excited to play a “very dark character” on ABC's 'Big Sky'

Reba McEntire was instantly intrigued by the character description for Sunny Barnes when she was pitched the role on season 3 of Big Sky.

The country legend initially got a call from executive producer Elwood Reid about joining the cast, prefacing that Sunny is a “very dark character,” which immediately piqued her interest.

In addition to her storied career in country music, Reba is known for playing the titular role in Reba, which ran for six seasons on The WB and The CW until 2007. She also transitioned to Broadway in 2001 as the lead role of Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun. When presented with the opportunity to appear on Big Sky, Reba knew the role would push her out of her comfort zone.

“I was like, ‘I’ve never gotten to play a dark character before.’ I’m always either funny or I’m the matriarch of the family, like on the Reba TV show,” she describes. “But this was something different, and my whole team and I were very excited about it.”

Sunny co-owns a camping company with her husband, Bucky Barnes, portrayed by Reba’s real-life boyfriend, Rex Linn. And though the couple seem pleasant on the surface, the actress hints things aren’t always what they seem.

“It’s like glamping, and we have a really good time taking care of all of our customers. Everybody has a wonderful time and we make sure everybody’s safe,” she says with a chuckle.

The singer notes that while Elwood offered some details on her character’s plot line, he didn’t give away all the details. “Every time we get a script, it’s like, ‘Oh my gosh, that’s so good,'” she says.

Big Sky airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.

Ingrid Andress releases “Seeing Someone Else” to hot AC radio, pens personal letter to her 23-year-old self

Ingrid Andress is releasing her first single to pop radio.

Following the release of her new album, Good Person, Ingrid is sending the cross-genre ballad “Seeing Someone Else” as an official single to hot AC Tuesday.

The singer credits her fans for the encouragement, noting on Instagram that their confidence in the song inspired her to make it a pop release.

In a letter written to her 23-year-old self, which references the song’s lyrics, Ingrid tells her younger self to follow her dreams and let go of a relationship that was holding her back: “I think you’re seeing who I used to be/I bet you wish I was the girl that you met/Out at a bar making a mess of 23.”

“I need you to stop seeing the person you're seeing right now, because they are not seeing you for the beautiful person you're becoming. You're about to embark on a long, crazy, adventurous journey to becoming an artist, and they are holding you back from starting,” she shares. “With every year, you discover something new about yourself, and you grow. This person is not discovering the same things you are, and it's incredibly difficult to be in a healthy relationship that means something if you aren't growing together.”

“Seeing Someone Else” is the second single released off Good Person, following the top 10 country hit “Wishful Drinking,” featuring Sam Hunt
